To do & Discover
Can Picafort is an ideal town to enjoy Mallorca in all its essence. It stands out for its relaxed atmosphere, the hospitality of its people, its exquisite gastronomy and its safety. With a sunny climate, warm waters and affordable prices.
The sea and
nature
Can Picafort, originally a small fishing village, is today a renowned tourist destination thanks to its spectacular white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. Located between the S'Albufera Natural Park and the Son Real Public Estate, it combines natural beauty and a privileged environment that make it unique. Its most outstanding nearby beaches are Es Capellans, Playa de Muro and Son Real, all of which offer very special experiences in an unspoiled environment, where tranquillity and privacy are the protagonists.
Playa de Muro is part of the S'Albufera Natural Park. It is almost six kilometres of sand surrounded by dunes and pine trees, making it ideal for those seeking nature. Its waters are clear and shallow.
Near these beaches is the S'Albufera nature reserve, a wetland internationally valued for its biodiversity, with marshes and swamps that are home to numerous species of birds and local fauna.
On the other side of Can Picafort we find the beach of Son Real, after a walk of approximately 3 kilometers from Can Picafort with a route only accessible through the virgin coast, it offers spectacular views that crosses the historic Phoenician necropolis of the 7th century. This path continues through the forest and ends at the old houses of the Possessió de Son Real and its beach.
If you prefer to stay in the village, the urban beach has all the necessary services, such as sunbeds, towels, restaurants and shops, ensuring comfort, accessibility and a lively atmosphere.
Life
The weekly Friday morning market is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the local wealth, with local products that stand out for their quality, especially seasonal fruits and vegetables in spring and summer.
During August, the popular festivals transform Can Picafort with cultural activities, street parties, traditional music concerts, dances and parades of typical characters, reflecting the most deep-rooted traditions of the island.
Gastronomy is another of the great attractions, with restaurants located next to the beach where you can enjoy spectacular views and the fresh sea breeze, offering local dishes at reasonable prices.
Excursions
Can Picafort is a perfect destination to connect with nature and explore unique landscapes. Sea excursions to the nearby coasts on small and medium-sized boats are one of the most popular activities, while its network of paths makes the northeast of Mallorca an ideal place for hikers and cyclists.
Sunset horse rides, organised by local companies, offer rides along the sea or through forests, providing an unforgettable experience. For those seeking more excitement, buggy or quad tours allow you to safely explore paths leading to secluded beaches, ancient estates and breathtaking views.
Surroundings
The surroundings of Can Picafort offer a rich combination of history, culture and gastronomy with nearby towns such as Santa Margalida, Alcudia, Pollensa and Son Serra de Marina all accessible in approximately 15 minutes by car.
You can't miss the walled town of Alcudia, full of excellent restaurants and charming craft shops. Its imposing wall, which dates back to 1300, is a living testimony to its rich history.
In addition, the impressive Sierra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site, is very close, offering multiple options for nature and hiking lovers in a unique setting.
